I’m Faruk Masinovic, a software engineer. I build backend systems and the web applications that sit in front of them.
The parts of this job I enjoy most are the ones that happen before any code gets written: working out how data should move through a system, where the boundaries belong, and what should happen when something inevitably fails. The typing is the easy part.
What I work with
Day to day that mostly means services, databases, containers and the pipelines that ship them — plus TypeScript and React when the work reaches the browser.
- Java
- Go
- Python
- TypeScript
- React
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Linux
- CI/CD
Why this site exists
Writing something down is how I find out whether I actually understood it. Most of what ends up here is a note to my future self: a problem I ran into, the things I tried, and whatever finally worked. If one of those notes saves you an afternoon, even better.
Say hello
The fastest way to reach me is email: faruk@masinovic.dev. I read everything, and I answer most of it.
